Lötschberger RegioExpress
The more beautiful way to the Bernese
Oberland and the Valais
People who have been speeding through the new Lötschberg base tunnel have saved a little time and missed a great deal instead. The imposing Kander Viaduct, the turning loops around the Felsenburg and the impressive view of the Rhone Valley can only be experienced on the almost 100-year-old mountain route between Kandersteg and Goppenstein.
This is why railway and nature lovers leave the Lötschberg base tunnel to those who are in a hurry and choose the more beautiful way to the Valais.
Since the timetable change of 11 December 2011, the Lötschberger excursion train has been taking you to the most beautiful destinations in the Bernese Oberland and the Valais in an even more convenient way. On weekdays, it now also runs direct from Berne to Brig and Zweisimmen at hourly intervals.
